Sundance is the premier showcase for the best new work by American and International independent filmmakers and one of the most widely covered events in the entertainment industry.

About: A signature event of the South Florida cultural calenda, the festival offers 330 of the finest artists and crafstmen in the world. May 17th - 18th, 2008 Affaire in the Gardens Art Show - at Los Angeles, CA
About: The show features over 200 artists and exhibitors from around the nation showcasing their work in such artistic disciplines as photography, painting, sculpture and fine art. Spanning four blocks of the Santa Monica Boulevard from Rodeo to Rexford it incorporates both music and al-fresco dining.

June 13th - 15th, 2008 Edmonds Art Festival - at Seattle, WA
About: one of the Northwest premier art festivals, hosts their annual event in a waterfront town of Edmonds. Art lovers from the surrounding areas can view over 240 selected exhibitors and a variety of different musical performances on multiple stages. The festival began in 1957, and has become a destination with 450 local and national artists appearing throughout the weekend. 100% volunteers run the festival, and the proceeds go to community grants to arts and cultural organizations.
June 1st - August 1st, 2008 Shakespeare in the Park - at New York, NY
About: Since 1962, The Public Theatre has staged productions of Shakespeare in the Park at The Delacorte Theater - an open-air theatre in Central Park. The performances are free of charge to the public and have featured acclaimed actors such as Meryl Streep, Denzel Washington, Christopher Walken and many others.

Over the course of history, Shakespeare in the Park has offered 80 productions and hosted 4 million visitors. Known as one of the best events in NYC, tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis.
August 28th - 31th, 2008 Chicago Jazz Festival - at Chicago, IL
About: Chicago's longest running lakefront musical festival takes place every Labor Day weekend in Grant Park. This renowned event has featured great talents such as Miles Davis, Wynton Marsalis and Nancy Wilson.

September 13th - 14th, 2008 The Boston Arts Festival - at Boston, MA
About: Designed to launch Boston's Arts season it is held at the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park and features both visual and performing artists. A custom-built artists village showcases the visual artists whilst the stage has played host to performances by Boston organizations such as the Boston Opera and Ballet.

The juried show uses colloquial Boston language to help identify the event as uniquely Boston. It's about having fun, enjoying Art and celebrating the upcoming season of cultural happenings.
September 20th - 21th, 2008 CenterFest Arts Festival - at Raleigh, NC
About: The festival is located on Foster Street, which is surrounded by Art galleries and studios. With over 100 artists as well as two stages of live music it is the longest running street arts festival in North Carolina featuring painters, jewelry makers, potters, sculptors and numerous other mediums of fine art. The festival attracts both Art lovers and those attracted by the musical entertainment. All proceeds from the festival support the production of the festival and DAC Annual Arts Fund that funds arts programs, artists and arts organizations in the community.

Amy Guip

It was never a question, it was an absolute, Amy Guip says of her decision to become an artist. Growing up in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, she and her family were called "artsy." When an abstract image the kindergartener created won a library art contest, making the local paper, her fate was sealed. Amy’s love of art propelled her to Syracuse University (average annual snowfall 120 inches), where she earned a B.A. in Fine Arts in 1987. Upon graduation, she headed to New York City to pursue a career in illustration. Once there, Amy taught herself photography and incorporated this medium into her work. The result was not only intriguing, conceptual imagery, but a broad ability to convey tone and message. A visual problem solver, Amy became a quick success in the editorial and music arenas. In 1996, the opportunity to create the advertising imagery for the Broadway musical Rent exploded Amy’s client base, as the success of the show drew attention to her artwork. She is now hired by domestic and international advertising agencies to give her edge to their products. Amy’s work earned the prestigious Life magazine Alfred Eisenstaedt award for Outstanding Photography in 2000. Amy Guip’s knowledge of many mediums guarantees that her work will always be complex, perceptive and current. She has had the opportunity to work with such diverse clients as: Nike, Coca-Cola, MTV, HBO, Levis, Newsweek, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, ESPN, Universal Music Group, Random House, Nestle, Nesquik, Adobe, Hewlett Packard and IBM. Amy has trained her eye on such celebrities as Coldplay, the cast of Harry Potter, and Stephen King, but the subjects that remain closest to her heart are darling daughter, Bella, 5, and son, Roman, 3.
